Image result for witf media center Join us to learn how Kathleen Pavelko's work in media has had an impact on Pennsylvania. Kathleen Pavelko has been President and CEO of WITF Public Media since October 1999.

During her time at WITF, Kathleen launched a capital campaign which raised $21 million to build the Public Media Center, which opened in April 2007. Two agreements to lease and share broadcast spectrum have brought more than $65 million in assets to WITF.

Kathleen launched WITF’s first daily interview program (Smart Talk) in 2008. Three multi-year, multi-partner multimedia collaborations are underway: Transforming Health (begun 2012), StateImpact PA (launched 2013) and Keystone Crossroads (from 2014). PA Post, a digital-first news initiative to deliver state policy and politics news statewide launched in September 2018.

Since 2001, WITF’s journalism has been awarded 15 national Edward R. Murrow Awards and the duPont-Columbia Silver Baton for Multimedia Excellence
