Experience the power of collective action as we help allegheny cleanways!
7,393,208 pounds of debris removed and PYP will add to that number through its volunteer event with Allegheny Cleanways on Saturday, August 30th!
Keep Pittsburgh beauteous and clean up the streets!
Closed-toe shoes or boots are a must, but here are some other good reminders for the event:
✔️ Consider wearing long pants, long sleeves, and/or a hat to protect from poison ivy, ticks, and sunburn.
✔️ Don't wear anything you do not want ruined!
✔️ What needs cleaned varies so we can be cleaning a steep hillside, an alleyway, an abandoned lot, etc.
✔️ Bring extra clothing - and a filled, reusable water bottle! - as you may want to add layers or change after the cleanup.
✔️ Allegheny Cleanways will provide work gloves and all necessary tools/materials.
FYI: Cleanups may end early or be canceled for inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. Volunteers will receive an email by 7:00 AM the day of the cleanup from our Community Outreach Advisor to the Board, Mitchell Jenkins.
Parking is available on the street. The address given is where the group will meet, and there will be a representative from Allegheny Cleanways to guide the group to the area that we will be cleaning.
Get ready to glove up and we will see you there!
