Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP) is partnering with Food City for an Earth Day cleanup of the community garden. The garden has become overgrown during the COVID-19 Pandemic and we will rolling back our sleeves to help the community prepare their slots for the season. This will be a B.Y.O.K. (bring your own rakeevent) event! Please bring your own gloves, rakes, hoes, saws, etc. to help clean the park!

Food City is a permaculture forest garden created in Summer 2012 by the Food City Fellows program of the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. It is a quarter of an acre located on four vacant city lots and two privately owned lots in the East Deutschtown neighborhood. The cross streets are Tripoli Street, Retail Way and Lovitt Way. Food City is run by neighborhood volunteers, and needs your help! Follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

For your safety and the safety of all our PYP members and guests, we ask you to please review our COVID-19 guidelines before signing up and/or attending this in-person event. We also ask that all attendees comply with the following requirements:

Face covering required

Face covering will be required at all times during the event, unless actively eating or drinking.

Temperature check required

Temperature checks will be required upon arrival, and attendees with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be admitted.

Pre-event survey required

Attendees will be required to answer a brief health survey before being admitted to the event. Those who fail to comply with the survey or have evidence of potential exposure will not be admitted.

Please stay home if you are sick

Combating the spread of COVID-19 is a group effort. If you or someone in you household is ill, stay home.

***Lastly, although we are taking every measure to ensure your safety and the safety of all our event attendees, any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19, and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during the event.***
