Join PYP’s Public Speaking Workshop led by Sheila Hyland, co-founder and executive communications coach of Foster Hyland & Associates. Whether you’re fearful of public speaking or want to sharpen your presentation skills, this workshop is for you! You’ll gain confidence in your abilities to communicate with any audience and learn practical skills you can put to use right away.

If you’d like to have your public speaking skills critiqued, we encourage you to come prepared with a topic that you can speak about for 2-3 minutes. We will take as many volunteers as time permits. If that makes you nervous, we’ll help walk you through it.
SHEILA HYLAND, CO-FOUNDER

Sheila has more than 20 years of experience in broadcast journalism. She has worked with three TV network affiliates (ABC, CBS and Fox) in various media markets as managing editor, producer, writer, reporter and anchor. She conducts media and presentation training, along with crisis communications and executive coaching.
Sheila has conducted more than 10,000 interviews, reported on major national crises during three decades and conducted hundreds of one-on-one interviews with heads of state, business and political leaders, entertainers, and athletes.
During her TV tenure, Hyland was consistently rated as one of the most credible and recognized figures in regional TV news and is the recipient of numerous awards during her reporting career.
Sheila continues to perform on-camera work and hosts both local, regional and national segments of Comcast Newsmakers. She also the co-hosts the podcast "Larry Richert: Unfiltered."
Ms. Hyland is a member of Pittsburgh Professional Women. She lends her time and talents to several organizations and nonprofits and is also operations manager for Luminari, a nonprofit summer enrichment program for teenagers.
